Book Fair

  • Camp Alvernia Blue Room (map)

A highly anticipated event on our calendar, this year we have expanded the book fair hours to allow for more flexibility for family shopping before and after school on Tuesday, Dec 11th and Wednesday Dec 12th.  Location is in the Blue Room at Harborside campus.

The Book Fair hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 11 - 8:30am - 3:30pm

  • Tuesday, December 11 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm

  • Wednesday, December 12 - 8:30am - 3:30pm

  • Thursday, December 13 - 9:00am - 10:00am

On Monday, we are inviting the LOL teachers to stop by the book fair to create wish lists of books for their classroom.  Please check out our wish list wall when you come in to shop if you would like to purchase a book for your child's classroom.

Students will be shopping with their classes at scheduled times Tuesday or Wednesday.
On Wednesday at 12:30pm we are offering a Grandparents Tea for pre-schoolers and their grandparents to shop and share a treat together.

We will have a Holiday Shopping Event on Tuesday from 7:00pm - 8:00pm.  Come shop for your holiday needs at the Scholastic Book Fair and Community Craft vendors.  Parents and students are welcome to attend this event together. Vendors attending include:

  • From Beyond - hand crafted artisanal goods

  • Spread love - rockin jamz

  • Crafts by Gray - classic book ornaments

  • Create by Felecia - ceramics and feathery ornaments

  • Steller Print Studio - journals, kitchen towels, wine bags

  • Emily Diamond and Keri Puglisi of EmmaLoops - homemade dough to go, sewing kits and homemade crayons

  • Loops by Keri - hand knit hats, scarves, headbands and more for adults, teens, children and babies

  • Olive Puglisi - reversible tote bags, perfect for books

If you haven't already done so, please sign up for the new eWallet.  Give your child a secure, cash-free way to shop the fair.  Simply create a free account, pre-authorize a spending limit, and have funds immediately available.  Instructions on how to do this are attached to this email.

If you don't feel comfortable setting up an eWallet account for your child you can always send cash.  Our default is to allow the children to participate, so if children do not have money with them, they will still be permitted to pick out a book and an IOU will be sent home.  If you do NOT want your child to buy a book, please contact the Main Office.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Book Fair Co-Chairs, Melissa Lapp and Eleanor Yeh.

Happy Reading!
